As part of our on going fund-raising towards the cost of Gorefield Primary School’s new swimming pool, we have come up with a fascinating idea…
We intend to place a TIME CAPSULE within the foundations of the pool. This will be a brilliant piece of social history for the future residents of the village. The last swimming pool was in place for around 50 years so we’re hoping the new one will be too! Can you imagine in 2061 someone finding the time capsule – what excitement!
This is where residents, students, businesses etc come in. For just a £1 donation you can place an A4 piece of paper inside our capsule. On it you can write all about yourself, where you live, in fact anything interesting, even your weekly shopping list with today’s prices! Just imagine for a moment 50 years ago- it was 1961. The beatles, swinging sixties fashion, average house prices etc., what message would YOU like to leave future generations? Don’t forget there’s two sides to a piece of paper so you can indeed leave lots of ‘stuff’ and interesting facts.
So go on- it’s just a £1, and even if you may not be around- your memories will!

When you have completed your A4 paper, take it along to the school with your £1`donation, and thank you in advance from the children of the future.
