A Trickle Of An Issue

While walking my two eldest children down Wisbech’s Elizabeth Terrace (round the back of the Ramnoth Junior School) I noted a large puddle of water in the middle of the lane – which seemed off considering that it hadn’t rained that morning, and on closer inspection I noted that it was water that was coming up from under the street.

Water has already collected in a neighbouring property’s front yard, and is filling a near by storm drain.

I am concerned as the water is coming up through repairs in the road where previous work went ahead after a similar issue, and I worry that further water leakage will make this area – one that is used by a lot of families – unsafe to walk on.

Coupled with the fact that the area is facing restrictions due to recent dry weather it seems laughable that the water company would allow a leak to persist.

The issue was reported yesterday morning first thing, and this morning it was still running clearly. Hopefully someone here can help sort out this costly and potentially hazardous issue soon, I don’t want to think what would happen if we have a sharp decline in temperature.

    Thank you for your e-mail.

I can confirm that a job has been raised under reference number 37223894 and a technician will be attending on Monday 27 February to carry out an inspection. If he can repair the leak there and then he will. If not, the details will be forwarded to our contractors to carry out the necessary works.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our free phone number is 0800 145 145.
