Part of my role as the Local Inspector is to monitor crimes not only in Fenland but the surrounding areas so that I can anticipate crime trends. One emerging and significant trend is the theft of copper from Electrical Sub-stations. Peterborough and East Cambridgeshire seem to be suffering at the moment and I don’t want it happen here. So if you see any suspicious cars or persons who do not look like they should be working in a Sub-station, please call us on 101, extension 3751. I would prefer to go to nine false calls and get the thief on the tenth than not get them at all.
